Wake up Call
Well the first one is in the books. 74-72 = +2 It was a great experience. The opening hole of the tournament was the best hole of the week, after hitting it in the trees left on the par 5 tenth i hit this remarkable hooking rescue under a few trees that rolled up to the front edge where i was able to two putt for a birdie. Then a wrong club decision on the second hole number eleven to a short sided bunker shot and i was back to even. Then bad ball striking caught up to me an i ended up shooting a 41  +5 on the front side. After putting away the driver, using a three wood on the back nine i shot a nice 33 -3. Just to many bogeys. Today was a better ball stricking day, i just didn’t take advantage of the many birdie opportunities i had. So after a 37 +1 on the front, i shot 35 -1 on the back. A total of 10 bogeys and eight birdies on the week. So looking at the leaderboard right now, i won’t be playing on the weekend. A wake up call. So i’ll prepare and get ready for Brookside CC next week. Hope you all have a great weekend and we’ll talk to ya soon. Stu

Hey Stu,
Today is Wednesday the 23rd. You are in Mexico ready to get your “A” game going as we all know you can. You can do it my friend! Please remember our last walk up the final 9 at Brookside, you played great, had a great overall round (65) with a 30 on the back. Remember what I told you, BUILD ON IT! Remember #1 is to have a purpose for each & every shot. #2. stay positive and most important of all, stay loose & HAVE FUN, it is a game and you are very good at it! Keep your head high and play well my friend!
Your friend and California Caddie, Ed
ps….. I stuck my little cheat sheet in your cig pack……pull it out and look at it!
I’ll be watching & praying for your best rounds to come while in Mexico. Deanne sends her love!

Hi Stuart. It’s Stef from Montréal. I caddied for you last summer… and maybe against you, I guess, when I went raking the sand trap before you were done with it on the very first hole… Now, you remember! Anyhow, congrats on your success in 2007, I read your recap sheet. I know you’re in Alberta now for a tournament… I just applied for caddying once again at the Montréal Open in August. I had a blast caddying for you, and you and would love to do it again. Since the caddy master is a friend of mine, he asked me if I wanted to be paired up with a player in particular. I said “yes”, pending your response. I don’t even know if you are going to be here for the Montréal tournament, so I’m going out on a limb, here. I f you don’t mind having me caddying for you, please let me know a.s.a.p.. I’ll then notify the caddie master, and off we go. If not, no big deal, and I’ll have to be paired up with a boring, uppity-nose player who’s complaining about everything else but his game… Much more potential fun with you, for sure. And, yes, I did learn since last year. As you asked me, no more raking before you’re done with the shot! So, if I’m bad Karma, don’t bother; however, if there’s a hunch, then let’s give it a go.
Regards, Stef.
